Introducing the Empires-4x Open Development Hub!
I'm excited to officially announce the launch of our open development project for Empires-4x. After making some progress as a solo developer, I've decided to open up the project to the community to accelerate development and bring in fresh ideas.
This project is a labor of love for a Roman Britain-themed 4X computer game. I've focused on creating a solid foundation with unique mechanics, and now I'm ready to collaborate with others to expand on that vision. If you have a passion for indie game development, strategy games, or open-source projects, I invite you to join us!
🚀 Our vision for Empires-4x
Empires-4x is a 4X game where you manage a series of farms, ranches, mines, and villas in Roman Britain. Our goal is to create a game with deep, meaningful choices rather than needless complexity. We believe that strategy games are at their best when they force players to make difficult trade-offs.
🛠️ How you can contribute
- Code: We have some "good first issues" for new developers. Our CONTRIBUTING.md file will guide you through our coding standards and how to submit a pull request.
- Game Design: Have a great idea for a mechanic or balancing change? Share it in our discussion board.
- Art and Assets: We need artists to help create sprites, tilesets, and UI elements.
- Testing and QA: Find a bug? Report it on our issue tracker! The more eyes we have on the project, the better the game will be.
